Preliminary documentation

Introduction

The main thrust is to allow folks to connect faces with names. I also collect some other information so that you can search on home branch, e-mail, apprentices, arts practiced, etc. I can add other fields if the demand arises.

Features

• People maintain their own data... edit any part of it at any time
• You start by adding a new record about yourself
• Built on a trust model... anyone can edit anyone else's records
• Not too trusting, though. Moderator vets all entries before they actually make it onto the web. This should prevent any pranksters from doing anything too embarrasing.
• Displays obfuscated e-mail addresses (so that spambots can't get at them)
• Brute force searching looks in all fields of all records
• Linkable url(s) for folks who have pages on the web

• Persona period/culture
• E-mail address
• URL list
• Home branch
• ZIP code
• Arts that you do
• Apprentices (and you are encouraged to put their art(s) after their names)

• use zip codes and census database to calculate how far a particular Laurel lives from you
