Baron and Baroness of Ruantallan to Step Down

From the Ruantallan e-mail list:

Unto all the Barony of Ruantallan do Janet and Lachlan send greetings this day,

We are sad to tell you all that due to unforseen matters, We must leave you and head for An Tir. Lachlan's trades on the seas are more favorable in that area of the Known World. Fear not, Their Majesties have been advised of this matter and the Barony will be in the capable hands of Dame Sarra Graeham of Birnham, as Vicar, until Heirs agreeable to Their Majesties and you are chosen. Our last day of service to the Eastern Realm as Runantallan's Coronet will be at the upcoming Northern Shores A&S competition in the presence of Queen Alethea.

We will leave with heavy hearts and the fondest of memories.

Yours in Service,
Janet and Lachlan
Baroness and Baron of Ruantallan

Pray heed the words of Their Majesties:

Darius and Alethea, King and Queen of the East, send greetings to the populace of Their Barony of Ruantallan,

We are most grieved to hear that Our Kingdom will be losing Our excellent Baron and Baroness of Ruantallan. Their service to Kingdom and Barony since their investiture has been great, and they will be much missed.

We are pleased to receive Dame Sarra as Vicar until a new Coronet may be chosen. To that end, We ask that those candidates interested in the position please notify the Vicar and Baronial Seneschal of their intent before the fifteenth of December. Ballots will go out on the fifteenth of January, and will be due back on the fifteenth of February; balloting will be preferential, that We may best know the mind of the Barony, and ballots will be collected within Northern Shores, that the whims of the post may not confuse or delay the results. We expect that Our Heirs, Andreas and Gabriella, will do the actual investiture during their reign; We are working closely with them on this matter to ensure a smooth transition.

East Kingdom Law, in cases where a Vicar is installed, provides for a polling to determine the future status of the group. (VII.F.8.c.ii) We are inclined to waive that requirement in this instance, but any with concerns or comments about the future status of Ruantallan are welcome to contact the Vicar or Ourselves.

As We are at a great distance from the Barony, and unacquainted with many of Our subjects therein, We invite all candidates for the Coronet to prepare a letter of introduction for Us, which may also be shared with the Barony. Her Majesty is interested in meeting and speaking with any members of the Barony who are so inclined, especially prospective candidates, during Her visit to the Northern Shores A&S Competition.

Darius and Alethea
